FWG is comprised of multi-state, multi-agency stakeholders who review work products related to development of Socio-Economic and Demographic (SED) forecasts for the NYMTC planning area, and beyond.

Advisory and Working Groups allow stakeholders and the public to get involved with NYMTC in specific areas of interest.

FWG reaches consensus on development of methodology and forecasts that support regional transportation plan development, corridor studies, subregional studies, and demonstrations of transportation conformity – the determination that the Regional Transportation Plan (the Plan) and approved Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) projects conform to national air quality goals.

SED Forecasts

Forecasts are mandated by federal requirements for long-term analysis in transportation and land use. Public meetings of the FWG are held during the development phase of the SED forecasts.
